I am not sure if this came with the engine or was the original one when I had the 1300 engine in the car. All the sites I have looked at suggest that the pinion should be 9 teeth and most replacement motors seem to be 9 teeth.

The smaller 9 tooth will be 'smaller' around,and the teeth will be further apart. Meaning it wont engage as fully as the 11 tooth will.However,It most likely won't hurt the flywheel ring gear,but the 9 tooth will most likely fail prematurely.I guess I'd run it till you notice some starter issues, Next time,go with a local rebuilder. five star property management st augustine
