During the test, your respiratory effort, pulse, oxygen saturation, nasal flow and snoring are monitored to determine if you suffer from sleep apnea. For comparison, traditional In-Lab Sleep Studies are done overnight in a nearby hospital. WebBlue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) will implement a new Sleep Management Program. The new program will consider the medical necessity of studies and the clinical appropriateness of a facility- or home-based test. Prior authorization will also be required for coverage of any subsequent treatment (therapy), both initial and ongoing.
