Web30 ago 2010 · It seems that over the years jeep just added the second viscous coupling fan for this kind of situations. The only remedy in this case is to switch off the airco when prolonged idling, or to add the second fan. Maybe someone who did this mod before can chime in. Web5 apr 2010 · actually the electric fan is pcm controlled. the mechanical fan is controlle by a clutch. you can actually remove the fan to free up a little power. most people agree it's overkill on the 4.7. look up clutch fan removal on one of the larger forums The OP is talking about the hydraulic fan featured on the later WJs.
